GOG vs Steam: where to buy it
Both stores got the game on 29 October 2026. Buy on Steam if you want the 18 achievements and leaderboards, since that is the build this site's completion data comes from.
COP BASTARD is on Steam and on GOG, and the official launch post says the GOG release landed the same day. Which one you should use depends on one question: do you care about the achievement list?

The honest recommendation
Buy on Steam if you want the achievements. Every page on this site that talks about completion rates, the 18-achievement list or the no-damage runs is describing the Steam build, because that is where the public completion data lives. If chasing WEAPON KING at 0.2 percent sounds like the point of the game, the platform choice is already made.
Buy on GOG if you already prefer it. The game is a 5 GB corridor shooter with no online component; there is no gameplay feature that depends on the storefront. The launch post confirming a same-day release means you are not waiting for a port.
What the discount means for the decision
The 10 percent launch discount runs through 7 November 2026 and brings the Steam price to $11.69. It is the first discount the game has had. Waiting past that date costs more, not less, unless a later sale undercuts it — and there is no announced one.
What is not in this comparison
No DRM comparison, no refund-policy comparison and no regional pricing table. Those depend on the storefront's own terms and on where you live, and a fan site restating them badly is worse than linking you to the stores directly.
