Patch notes: demo v0.98c5 to launch
The last demo patch was v0.98c5 on 23 September 2026: no-head-bob option, checkpoint loading screen, controller fix in the death menu, and a Parking enemy-detection fix. The game launched 29 October 2026.

Every official update to COP BASTARD, oldest to newest, with what actually changed. The demo did most of the moving: the launch build is the end of a long public tuning process rather than a reveal.

What v0.98c5 actually fixed
Four lines, all quality-of-life:
- A no-head-bob option — motion-sensitive players could finally stop the camera sway.
- A checkpoint loading screen — dying and reloading no longer drops you into a blank frame.
- Controller input in the death menu — the pad used to stop responding exactly when you needed to restart.
- Enemy detection in Parking — enemies could see through walls on that level.
If you are playing the launch build, all four are already in. If you are playing the demo and any of them still bite, you are on an older build than the one the full game shipped from.
The September update is the big one
Everything that makes the game feel finished arrived on 17 September 2026: rebinding, the crosshair size control, extra languages, reload cancelling, the execution system, two new enemy types and controller support. If a review from before that date describes the game as stiff or unresponsive, it was describing a build that no longer exists.
